'Paradise & Hell' is a collection of twenty-four stories about the inadequacies of Paradise and the anxieties in Hell.  Both Heaven and Hell have existed alongside each other for so long that it is is sometimes difficult to distinguish between the two.  From android love stories to dissections of historical events, from a life lived far too mindfully to the dilemmas posed by working in Hell itself. The book includes short stories as well as the novellas 'Paradise' and 'Hell'.

Dissent, a novel, part of the forthcoming trilogy 'Planet in Peril'.

Could it be fiction written like a screenplay? Or is it a screenplay written like fiction?  A dystopian fairy-tale in 10 parts and 77 takes, ‘Dissent’ is the first book of the space opera series 'Planet in Peril', for young adults and adults alike. The book's heroine is an Alice of the future, but her Wonderland is no place to dream. Her journey of discovery takes her across a bleak dystopian ecosystem, making her challenge what she is and question everything she so desperately wants.

Zero Negative/Cero Negativo' is a bilingual narrative. The stories are in both English and Spanish, not translations of each other but reflections or versions that are inextricably linked.   The book is an indictment against bloodshed in its many forms: war, torture, capital punishment, murder, martyrdom.

The key to the story in English might be found in the story in Spanish, or vice-versa.  Or perhaps the ending of the story in Spanish might contradict the ending of the story in English.  Or does it?  In other words, the two versions complement each other, like the two halves of something that is probably greater than the sum of its parts.  And although sharing an identical origin, each version ultimately tells its unique tale.  Thus, from a common source are born two stories, each embellished with the symbols and distinctiveness of two languages working together to create a single narrative.

The stories can be read solely in English as a stand-alone collection, or solely in Spanish.  But there is a third reading for all those who know both languages. And that third reading is, as might be expected, the best reading of all because it tells the full story.

Isabel's collection of short stories 'La duda' (The Doubt), published in 'Colección Andanzas' by Tusquets Editores in Barcelona, was shortlisted for two literary awards in Spain ('Nuevos Narrradores' and 'Ícaro').  'La duda y otros apuntes para escribir una colección de relatos' is a metaliterary exercise, assembled from legends, fantasies and memories. Readers are invited to write the stories themselves, with the writer providing the instructions, basic writing materials and plot suggestions. The result is a collection of short stories written by both the writer and the reader.

The publisher said: "

Memoir

Isabel's latest book, published in June 2021, is an autobiography written in English with quotes and excerpts in Spanish.  It includes the fragmented story of a life lived between two countries, two languages, two cultures.  With the spectre of the Spanish Civil War hovering over many of the recollections in the book, the memoir tells the journey from a chequered past in a fascist dictatorship to a hopeful if challenging future where the protagonist affirms her identity both as a woman and as a writer.

The book includes several photographs, mostly by the author.
